I'll admit it... a.k.a. The Grey's Anatomy Post

Meredith Grey? I just don't get it. I mean, sure, McDreamy the emotional mindfuck may not be a prize (despite his being a fine physical specimen), and I don't know enough about Chris O'Donnell's veterinarian character to make an assessment of him either way, but still. What IS it about her that makes these guys (not to mention poor old George) go gaga? Because to me, she just seems whiny, irrational, unstable, and emotionally needy. Just what we need in Hollywood -- more strong roles for females. [/sarcasm] But then again, that could just be the emotionally er...insensitive part of me speaking.

You have summed up the reason I can't get into this show at ALL. And I love Mr Dempsey, and was excited that he was going to be on TV... but I just can't stand her. Obviously her character is supposed to be smart and motivated, she's a doctor after all. However, she's pathetic.. and I just can't stand it. I don't watch the show, and don't understand all the hoop-la over it.

My husband and I HATE Meredith Grey. In fact, even though we both like the show sometimes we just want to turn it off when she gets started on her whiny "woe is me, its so hard to be skinny and blonde with two men in love with me" voice-overs. The character really is a deplorable human being.

Nah, it's not you she's a whiney, passive/aggressive, pain in the ass. I've just started watching the show and I dislike her already! Good thing the other characters have enough chops to keep us interested.

Amen! I still love the show, though. Sandra Oh (Cristina) and Chandra Wilson (Bailey) are awesome.

lol! I totally agree with you! I get tired of how she has to turn every conversation into a Conversation which is actually a Story with a lead-in and a conflict and a resolution and everything. It's like she's a walking advertisement for Toastmasters.

My new favorite character is Callie. She's strong and smart and beautiful and HEALTHY and they actually have a curvy woman dancing in her underwear and present it as sexy and I LOVE it and she's just so no-nonsense and down to earth... let's start a Callie fan club!!

I'm also a huge fan of Cristina, and I am liking Alex more these days.

Callie is GREAT!! She's strong, smart and ballsy and sets her own beauty standard. I adore Bailey, who is getting a bit softer without losing her power, and Christina is beginning to own up to having feelings. I think it's a great show.

Meredith has her moments. She came through when they had to remove the bomb from a patient. She's just a bit self-absorbed and neurotic, but I think they'll make her grow up, too, before it's over.
