Setting: After my class on corporate crime, my fellow 3Ls and I are talking about the class and the discussion on lie detector tests. Not verbatim, but as close as I can remember.
Fellow 3L: Hey, that was a great comment you made about lie detector tests' being inaccurate and inadmissible.
odderie: Oh really? Thanks!
Fellow 3L: Yeah, it was really good. Did you take Evidence with Stone?
odderie: Yeah...
Fellow 3L: Oh, so you remembered--
odderie: ...but I didn't get it from there. I totally got that from Law & Order.

I thought about naming my blog "Everything I know about THE LAW I learned from L&O." But then I wouldn't have been able to talk about things like American Idol or stupid commercials.
I <3 Law & Order. I love that they actually get the law right most of the time. Well, that and the gripping acting. And Ice-T. He is just so cool.

At a lunch interview I revealed to the two associates interviewing me that my husband and I "brushed up" on our evidence knowledge by calling out all the incorrect crap on Law & Order. Can't believe I actually got the job.
That's hilarious.
And they say TV is bad for you :)
I am so jealous right now.
I watched a LOT of L&O during Barbri time. It's even better when you're taking the NY bar because Barbri is giving you all these "NY distinctions" for crim and crim pro, so it's even more "helpful" for "studying." Especially with all those TNT marathons on summer holidays (as if it wasn't already on all day!).
