Oh man, Oman!

Forking Egg!

Crappy cabbie experience #2 of my NYC experience. Paraphrased except for the QUOTES.

Me: Uh, you went the wrong way.
Him: I was going to go to xyz and then turn onto abc.
Me: Yeah...well it's faster (and more direct) to go the other way.
Him: "So whatchoo want me to do? Kill myself over it?"

WTF?? Seriously?

I was so pissed I left the cab (and walked 12+ blocks in 24 degree weather back home).

What I should have said?

Uh, no...but you could NOT be an ASSHOLE over it.

Got my vacation time approved. Yay!

Now trying to decide where to go...

Morocco was in the lead and a 90% deal, but now Tunisia is looking pretty awesome.

Random Observation

I sometimes see hospital workers who head to work in their scrubs, riding the subway, walking the [dirty, dingy] streets of New York, buying their morning coffee, etc.

Call me crazy, but aren't scrubs supposed to offer a sanitary sartorial presence? How does wearing your scrubs from your apartment, sitting on gum on the subway, stepping your Crocs into some dog crap on the sidewalk, and letting the 8,000 different smells, noxious chemicals, and who-knows-what-else-you-encounter-in-transit permeate your threads aid any way in a hygienic workplace?

Just got back from a trip home, and it was great. I feel more homesick when I go home, though, and it makes me wonder when it'll be my time to pack up from the Big Apple. Regardless, I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season and best wishes for the brand new 2009 year!

New Kids on the Block

This weekend. Atlantic City. Me, my friend from high school, 3000 others of New Kids' closest fans (who bought tickets that sold out in 5 minutes), and the NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK.

Seriously one of the best experiences of my life.

And, yeah, I was within 10 people of Joey Joe McIntyre.
